Intro

Joyce Shi is a concept-driven, award-winning designer and art director based in New York.

Her works range from book & editorial design, campaign & brand identity to digital experiences. She also commits to teaching design when time allows.

Joyce Shi is the founder of G Axis Press, a self-publication practice. Her works are featured at bookstores, galleries and book fairs around the globe, including Thomas J. Watson Library at the MET.

Her creative philosophy is deeply rooted in the concept of “design for the sake of design,” challenging the role of design to go beyond a mere container or presentation of ideas, but the idea itself. With this guiding principle, Joyce centres her practice around building systems and experiences, which manifest in a variety of forms and mediums.

Joyce Shi holds a BFA with Honours from Parsons School of Design, majored in Communication Design and minored in Printmaking.
